Action Records is a record label based in Athens/Greece.We are specialized in Psychedelia, Rock'n'roll, Garage, Folk, Pop, Jazz/Blues, Progressive Rock.The idea to start a record label actually came up several years ago, mainly because of the Cardinals. We liked so much their teen 60’s- spirit that we decided to release some of their great stuff!!! Regardless the small population of Greece, there is a really great interest in 60s music. A lot of 60s happenings, concerts and parties take place, where you can meet only hip chicks and mod-like youngsters. The 60s spirit and feeling is still alive around here. 60’s fans from Greece and around the world anticipated and welcomed these releases. Being encouraged by our successful initial attempt with the Cardinals releases, we thought that having more similar releases on our label has become of great importance to us. The rest is history and today, ten years after our first attempt as a record label, we look back in pride to our releases and gaze happily towards the future because there are yet a lot more to come.Anyhow our preferences are absolutely obvious throughout our releases. We truly admire and regard the work that Sundazed, Dig The Fuzz, Black Widow, Acme, Misty Lane, Stanton Park, Get Hip, Dionysus, Second Battle and specific releases by all other labels and we try to present and offer their releases through our record shop in Greece. We work hard here in Action records to promote the hidden audible (and not only them) treasures of the 60s. People are still able to distinguish this “special” feeling that only the creations of a glory past can intrigue. We try to continue the tradition of high quality, in every aspect of record production, from where it was stopped at the end of the 60s era. We are also interested in every new band that is “into” these tunes and we respect their love for this music and their efforts to keep the 60’s spirit alive.As for distribution, our releases are available in England, Germany, France, Spain, Austria, Italy , Australia , USA and Japan. We’re of course open to any other distributors’ proposals so that our stuff would reach everywhere 60’s fans can be found.
